Small Group Lessons

I am also available to offer small group swim lessons, which offer more peer interaction than a private lesson but with a smaller teacher:student ratio. Enrollment can be limited to exclude registration from the general public so you can recruit students from within your own network.

What are small group lessons?

Small group swim lessons have a 3 student minimum and (usually) a 4 student maximum. (For advanced students the maximum may be as high as six.)

How does it work?

New small group lessons start at the beginning of each group lesson session, and follow the group lesson session schedule for start/end/no meet dates. Enrollment will be completed before the beginning of the session for all students in the class.

How much does it cost?

Total cost per student depends on the number of weeks in the session and the length of the class. (Class length is determined by age and skill level of the students. 30 minutes is the shortest and 55 minutes is the longest!) The cost per student is a bit more than full-size group classes, but on an hourly basis is typically less than private lessons.

Who can participate?

I teach Parent/child classes for ages 6 months-3 years, and swim classes for ages 3-adult. Students in a small group class should be close enough in age and ability to participate together for the entire class. (For example, a beginning student would not be successful grouped with students who are working on deep water skills, and a 2 year old and a 9 year old have different needs.)

What day/time will the class be?

I can offer classes during any time I have available. If you have a specific time you’d prefer, please feel free to ask if I am available then, or I can send you some options and you can choose the best one. Your class will run on the same day(s) of the week and at the same time each time. Makeup times and reschedule dates are usually not available for group classes.

Can you match me with a family who has similar age/level students?

Unfortunately not. With enough lead time we can open small group swim on Parktakes when we open the regular session, but if we don’t get at least 3 registrants the class will not run.

What if I only have fewer than three students to enroll?

I would be very happy to offer you semi-private or private lessons!

How do I sign up?

If you’re interested in Small Group Swim, please fill out this interest form and I’ll get in touch! Thanks so much.
